Tonight with The Impressionnists – Paris 1874
Step into 19th-century Paris and relive the birth of Impressionism as if you were truly there. This immersive virtual reality expedition transports you to the very first Impressionist exhibition in 1874. A faithful, sensitive, and immersive recreation that brings you face to face with Monet, Degas, Renoir, and their contemporaries at a pivotal moment in art history. After attracting over 80,000 visitors at the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, the experience arrives in Montreal.
You are invited to wander through a fully immersive collective experience and witness this pivotal moment in the birth of Impressionism—and, more broadly, in the history of art.
Equipped with your virtual reality headset, you are transported to 19th-century Paris, immersed in the bustling energy of the grand boulevards, standing before the nearly completed Opéra Garnier. Guided by Rose, a young aspiring writer and artist’s model, you make your way along the boulevard to the former studio of photographer Nadar at 35 Boulevard des Capucines, where the highly anticipated exhibition’s opening night is about to begin. Your visit unfolds from here.
