New director for Arsenal New York

Arsenal Art Contemporary is pleased to announce the appointment of Marie-Eve Lafontaine to the position of Managing Director in New York City beginning September 2019.

Marie-Eve was formerly curator at the Schinkel Pavillon in Berlin and chief curator at TRAFO Center for Contemporary Art in Poland, where she was tasked with expanding the young institution. She has curated solo exhibitions of artists such as Janet Cardiff, Alicja Kwade, Gilad Ratman and Ari Benjamin Meyers, and was involved in Schinkel Pavillon’s recent critically acclaimed Louise Bourgeois show, “The Empty House” in 2018.

Marie-Eve holds a continuous interest in young artists and digital medias, with a strong focus on promoting contemporary Canadian art abroad. In her new position she will be managing the program of Arsenal’s New York location and cultivating relationships with a variety of private and institutional partners.
