Danse Danse - Kim-Sanh Châu
DANCE
Dec 11, 2018
Doors: 6 p.m.Performance: 7 p.m.
In collaboration with Danse Danse and TD Bank Group, Arsenal Contemporary Montreal invites you to a TD Cultural Tuesday - Focus : Dance & Creative Research dedicated to the presentation of Kim Sanh Châu’s explorations.
KALEIDOSCOPE
Leaning between dance and installation, Kaleidoscope is a colorful sensorial journey where bodies unravel subconscious and fleeting dreams. Floating through concise positions and with gentle corporeity, the dancers Ariane Dessaulles and Melina Stinson open our oneiric imaginations. The audience slides into this surreal and hazy world wearing kaleidoscope glasses. Their special lenses multiply the image and alter colours. With this new creation, Kim-Sanh Châu realizes and invites us into her synesthetic realm of colors, music and emotions. Kaleidoscope is pale pink and violet, touched with Persian blue and gold. Bodies duplicate infinitely. Then disappear.
A short version has already been presented at Tangente, Krossing-Over (Vietnam), DanceBox (Malaysia), SIDance/HOTPOT, and Sejong festival (South Korea) in 2018. This creation residency at Arsenal Contemporary Montreal will lead to a full-length piece, re-oriented towards a performative installation.
